Thoughts on Elopement from a Wedding Photographer!

Why Elope??

Mesa Arizona Elopement

As a photographer in the wedding industry for so many years I have seen the ends and outs of all types of weddings. I have got to capture some of the most gorgeous over the top weddings, I have shot backyard weddings, I have seen weddings fall apart, I have seen the stress and I have seen some of the most happy moments too! Wedding days as a photographer will always be one of my favorite days however it does always hit a little more different when the couple chooses to elope.

Elopements are more sentimental. The day is about you and your spouse, not about a meal or about who will sit where or really even a strict timeline. As an elopement photographer, I do most of the planning. I am even an ordained minister so that there doesn’t need to be any extra people than you want there.

I love that even though they are more relaxed there is still the overwhelming excitement, the emotion I feel is heightened on elopement days because there aren’t people looking at you, there are no expectations. It is just you and the person you love the most, the person you trust the most and the reason you are there.

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing I love more than jumping on a plane and head off to somewhere beautiful to have epic photos from your day, but it doesn’t have to be that at all. Do you have a place that means so much to you and your partner? Maybe a field you once danced in, a place you love to watch the sunset, a farm with lots of memories? We can make magic anywhere, it is your story, I just get to capture it!

If you are on the fence whether to elope or not, if you are stressed planning a wedding and thought I should just elope. I am telling you right now, do it you will have zero regrets!!
